The Millburn / Cattails routing is one of the three championship 18-hole combinations at River Spirit Golf Club, a premier 27-hole public golf facility just west of Calgary. Designed by renowned golf architect Russ Olson, this combination pairs the dramatic elevation changes and creek-lined holes of the Millburn Nine with the open, links-inspired Cattails Nine, creating one of the club's most balanced and challenging championship layouts. The Millburn Nine features rolling terrain, Millburn Creek, mature trees, and several risk-and-reward holes that demand strategic shot-making. The Cattails Nine offers a contrasting style with gently undulating fairways, natural wetlands, willow trees, fescue-covered hillocks, and panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. Large Bentgrass greens, Kentucky bluegrass fairways, and carefully positioned bunkers provide a fair but demanding test for golfers of every ability. From the Blue tees, the Millburn / Cattails combination measures 6,700 yards, playing to a par 72 with a course rating of 72.0 and a slope rating of 130. From the championship Black tees, the course stretches to 7,091 yards, earning a course rating of 73.9 and a slope rating of 133, making it the most challenging routing at River Spirit Golf Club.
