Myrtlewood Golf Club – PineHills Course

”The Pines” course at Myrtlewood was originated in 1966, until it was revamped and redesigned by famous architect Arthur Hills and simply renamed PineHills. After its facelift, PineHills was nominated by Golf Digest in 1994 as “best new resort course.” One of the best parts of PineHills is its central location. Located off of 48th Ave. North and Hwy. 17 Bypass, PineHills is right in the heart of Myrtle Beach, thus making it very attractive to most tourists who don't have the desire to travel long distances. Offering the best bang for your buck, the PineHills course at Myrtlewood Golf Club is very reasonably priced for the type of golf course you get in return. PineHills is very well maintained with its Tiff Dwarf Bermuda greens and fairways and measures 6,600 yards from the back tees. The length of the course makes PineHills great for the ladies while also challenging the men with the strategically placed trees and bunkers. Holes #7 and #18 truly are great holes and offer up some great risk-reward shots. #7 stretches all of 365 yards from the back tees but with a slight dogleg right, rough and water lining the left side and bunkers all down the right center this hole makes for a strategic tee shot, if you hit driver you may find yourself in the water that isn't visible from the tee box. #18 is very similar to #7. The finishing hole at PineHills is a 403 yard par 4 that is also a slight dogleg right. Your tee shot if struck well will clear the bunkers that line the right center of the fairway and the ball should roll down into a gully leaving you a little wedge shot into a water and bunker protected green.
